On-Site Public Audit Manager

Our client, a boutique CPA firm, is adding an Audit Manager to the team due to business growth. The Audit Manager will be responsible for audit program approval, personnel scheduling, audit working papers review, financial statement disclosure footnote approval, day-to-day client relationships, determination of billings for engagements, and training and evaluation of Staff and Seniors. What you will be doing as the Audit Manager

  • Managing or supervising in all aspects of existing and new client audit relationships as assigned by the firms Partner

  • Training and supervising audit staff

  • Assisting with office administration including engagement invoicing and collection, staff coaching, mentoring and training, quality control, strategic planning, and scheduling

  • Collaborating with the audit group to develop innovative audit practices that adhere to required standards but serve our clients interests

  • Assigning adequate resources to projects in light of other scheduling requirements

  • Resource scheduling and schedule management including sizing audit jobs, establishing budgets for time spent in each phase, and then directing Company resources to meet the budgets and client expectations

  • Managing budgets for his/her jobs, raising red flags to the Audit Partner when a project grows out of scope or is moving toward a budgetary or timing overage

  • Supervising staff assigned to his/her projects to insure that schedules, budgets, and quality requirements are met

  • Communicating the engagement status with the client and their advisors on a timely and ongoing basis

What will make you successful as the Audit Manager

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting  

  • 3+ years of proven work experience as an Audit Manager within a public accounting audit department

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) principles.  

  • Good oral and written communication skills.  

  • Ability to manage time efficiently.  

  • Knowledge and understanding of internal and external audit processes.  

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.  

  • Ability to detect problems and resolve them instantly.  

  • A sharp eye for details for accuracy.  

  • Good leadership abilities and the ability to work under stressful situations.

Work Schedule:  

  • On-Site

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM

  • Outside of busy season, Monday - Thursday; 8:00AM - 5:00PM, Friday 1/2 Days

  • Flexible schedule around kids school drop off and activities

Compensation: $85,000 - $115,000 (DOE)
